If you’ve ever uploaded a video to YouTube and wondered, “How much can I really make from this?” you’re not alone. YouTube’s monetization models can be confusing, especially with ads, short-form videos, CPM, RPM, and everything in between.

That’s why I created the YouTube Monetization Calculator. It’s a simple yet powerful tool that calculates estimated earnings based on your video or short-form video views. Whether you’re a seasoned YouTuber or just starting out, this page will help you understand the numbers behind the scenes.

How it works
Using the calculator is easy:

Select whether you want estimated video or short-form video views.

Drag the slider to your estimated views.

You can enter a custom CPM or select your region (Asia, Europe, Americas) to use a location-based average CPM.

We use a separate flat rate for short videos. Since short videos are monetized differently than long-form videos, the revenue per view is significantly lower, but increases with the number of views.

Things to know about CPM
CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) shows how much advertisers pay per 1,000 views.

It varies depending on location, audience, time of year, and content niche.

For example, a tech review channel in the US might get a significantly higher CPM than a meme channel in another region.

Unless you specify a specific region, our calculator uses an estimated average CPM for each region.

Why Views ≠ revenue
Not all views are profitable. Only views where the ad is actually viewed and watched (or clicked) count toward your revenue. So 1 million views doesn’t always mean a lot of money. Factors like viewer engagement, ad blockers, and viewer demographics can affect the number of views.

Making money on YouTube takes time, patience, and strategy. While this calculator won’t make you rich overnight, it will provide clarity and insight. Use it to plan, forecast, and better understand YouTube’s revenue system.

Get started today—enter your numbers, test different CPMs, and get a realistic estimate of your content’s potential value. If you’re looking to turn your hobby into a full-time job or are just curious about how it all works, this is the tool for you.
